Sarah is the OMP Hot Model of the Week

The amazing models featured in the OMP Blog are so hot, that some of them automatically qualify as Hot Model of the Week! Such is the case with Sarah (OMP Model #189224), whose gorgeous eyes, luscious lips, incredible body, and laidback personality make her the ideal subject for photographers around the world.

Modeling for four years, she got her start as a model through OneModelPlace.com, coincidentally enough. "I found One Model Place randomly while doing an Internet search. I was searching for model agencies online while sitting on my couch eating pizza when I found OMP! So I decided to upload a picture of myself. I slowly built up my portfolio from there."

OMP opened her eyes to a whole new world of modeling that she never knew existed. "I thought the only way to be a model was to be 90 lbs, 6'5", and wait outside an agency in New York until they decided you weren't a piece of crap. Although modeling outside the major markets is completely different, OMP does give opportunities for girls such as myself to pursue it professionally."

One glance at the diversity of Sarah's portfolio will tell you that this is no ordinary model. "I like to do all styles of modeling for different reasons, but I definitely like to do any modeling that requires me to portray an emotion or character that requires me to go out of my box. My favorite photo shoot was probably a shoot I had done with Navid for a candy company called ItSugar. For one shot, I was dressed up and Marie Antoinette and had a 20lb licorice wig on my head. The shot turned out amazing! I also got to have some fun with some over-the-top facial expressions, like a sour-puss face."

Sarah recently relocated to Reno, NV, and is enjoying her new life in the Biggest Little City in the World. But while she has travel extensively for photo assignments in the past, she recently decided to put away her rolling suitcase for a while and focus on her future career goals. "I'm in grad school, so I don't have a lot of time for fun things like modeling. Up until last year, though, I was flying anywhere from once every couple months to four or more times a month. It all depended on how much work I put into booking shoots. I could work as little or as much as I wanted."

Sarah wants to pass along some tips for models who are planning to travel for modeling work. "Make sure you check references before going anywhere where you put yourself at risk. Make sure you have communicated enough so that both parties are clear as far as boundaries, expectations, payment, usage, etc. It's not a bad idea for models to have photographers sign a contract before hand -- photographers do it all the time, why can't we?"

She feels that the rewards of modeling are too numerous to mention, but gave us a short list of her favorite aspects of the career: "First, the opportunity to have other people make you look beautiful. You just show up in pajamas, clean, plucked eyebrows, and nice nails and the rest is up to them! Second, you get to be anyone you want to be! Three, as I mentioned, you do get to travel a lot. Before I got into modeling, I had only flown once in my life. Now I can't even count how many times I have flown and the places I have seen. Finally, being a model is great because you get to meet amazing, creative, and fun people all over the world!"

Sarah also lists a few of her personal challenges as a model: "It is difficult to find enough time to model as much as I would like, having to deal with angry people at the airport, and negotiating fees without sounding like a jerk. Another tough situation to be in as a model is when you have to work with anyone that doesn't get the mix of fun and work in this business, and views it too much as one or the other."

Her future plans as a model are up in the air, as a real career looms on the horizon. "I'm not quite sure where my modeling will lead to at this point. I may be going for my doctorate soon, so modeling may have to continue to take a back seat. But I think no matter what age, I will still always stay in the modeling scene one way or another. I'm also considering getting in on the photographer side of things and helping out new models."

She offers the following advice for young models just entering the business. "Never miss an opportunity to learn, which is all the time. Constantly look for ways to improve from good sources of information including the photographer, MUAs, stylists, other models, and especially you own photos."

You can view Sarah's online portfolio here or vist her personal website at www.sarahrichling.net.

Carlotta is the OMP Hot Model of the Day!

Having worked in the industry for the past six years, Carlotta (OMP Model #149902) is an experienced model who instantly transforms anyone’s images into works of art. Her unique diversity allows her to work in a variety of styles and fit into many different categories.

“I have modeled for many genres of work -- fine art, glamour, beauty, lingerie, even fetish! I think I would call myself an erotic model because I seem to present a hint of sexuality in all of my images, no matter how reserved I may try to be. My favorite genre to model for is fine art nudes because I feel that it is my most natural state, and I achieve a sense of satisfaction from knowing I am inspiring someone to create true art.”

Fans of Carlotta can meet the model at Glamourcon, an industry convention that will be held in Chicago on August 15-16 and Los Angeles on Nov. 14-15. “I have attended the Chicago Glamourcon every year since I made it into the pages of Playboy. I find it is a great way to become connected with fans, and make contacts within the industry.” For more details, visit www.glamourcon.com.

The Florida resident was posing for some local artists and friends involved in the arts when she decided to take her hobby to the next level. “A photographer and a model both mentioned I should check out OneModelPlace.com. The site helped launch me from an amateur to a well-known working model.”

Promoting herself on OMP has been very helpful to Carlotta’s success. “Within 24 hours of signing up, I was literally overwhelmed with emails, and then a career blossomed from there! The travel notices on the site help me find work when I'm on the road, the atmosphere is overall very professional, and the contacts I have made with the people on the site are endless.”

Her favorite assignments include being published in Playboy Magazine. “I've been fortunate enough to shoot many times for Playboy. They are a wonderful company. I think I am most proud of getting the cover of a book called 'My Favorite Model,' as it features over 40 amazing models. To be chosen for the cover is just incredibly flattering.”

It seems like everything in Carlotta’s life revolves around photoshoots. “To prepare, I get my nails done, my hair done, and look for new wardrobe. The whole process of being prepared takes weeks! I don't generally work locally, so I have to schedule flights, book hotels, rent cars -- it’s a huge ordea. Showing up and modeling is the easy part!”

Well, not that easy. Some of the positions Carlotta finds herself in are more difficult that they appear. “I always have to make sure my facial expressions correspond well with my body positioning. Sometimes a pose can really hurt, and you have to be aware that your face still needs to look at ease.”

She does feel that the good parts of modeling outweigh the bad for the most part. “I get to travel, meet amazing artists from all over the world, and the money doesn't hurt either! The whole process is challenging, though! Being away from home for weeks at a time, pushing your body into wild yoga poses, being sore frequently. Although the job seems glamorous, there is a lot of work involved!”

Her advice for models just starting out includes “being professional, honoring your commitments, and showing up on time.”

Autumn Wishes You a Happy, Sexy Summer!

Autumn (OMP Model #295792) has been modeling for two years, and she got her start on One Model Place. “I hadn't done any real modeling until I joined OMP. Once I set up my portfolio, local photographers wrote me wanting to set up shoots, so I just went for it and found out it's something I love to do. I was inspired to try to make great images when I saw the photographers' pages and other models' amazing portfolios, and I'm still trying!”

In addition to fashion and beauty, this New Haven, Connecticut resident has a penchant for artistic nudes. “One of Autumn’s favorite things about nude modeling is it allows her to work with new and creative people and getting to try new things. I also love being nude in nature -- it's liberating!”

Autumn has no specific future goals as a model, but she definitely has a positive outlook. “I'm just seeing where it takes me and having fun along the way.” She does, however, have some suggestions for other young models starting out. “Modeling is all about attitude, no matter who you are. So just have fun, relax, experiment, and be safe.”

You can also check out Autumn on her personal website www.autumnmodel.com.

Angel is Our Hot Model of the Day

Angel (OMP Model #106020) started modeling four years ago, after she was approached at the mall by a model scout. “I went online to see if the company was legit, and I found One Model Place. I took some pictures in the backyard,
posted them on OMP, and have been modeling ever since. Photographers saw my pictures and I started building my book.”

The Detroit, Michigan model loves to shoot creative images involving fashion, beauty, and makeup. She also enjoys location shoots in interesting places. Some of her favorite assignments include shooting for FPStyle, Brickers-Tunis Furs, Rite Aid Nationwide, and Avlon.

OMP has helped Angel’s career in many ways. “As I mentioned, OMP is where I got my start, so that is how it has helped me the most. It gave me the tools I needed to get started. Also, being cast in the pilot for the OMP-sponsored reality series “Shut Up and Model” was fun and definitely a learning experience for me as a new model.”

The “Shut Up and Model” shoot featured Angel and a group of sexy competitors posing for photo shoots and competing in challenges. “We had a lot of fun. It was nice to get out and meet models and photographers from around the country. I learned a lot and grew as a model, and had fun doing it. It was still work and I think it's the first time I had experienced a 5am call time!”

Angel offers this advice to models just starting out. “Do your homework! Don't get scammed! And shoot as much as you can. Build friendships and great working relationships with models and photographers alike. You learn a lot and it may even lead to recommendations on your behalf to clients.”

The brunette beauty would love to do more print work in the future. “My big dream is to be a CoverGirl. I'd love to shoot for more companies locally and nationwide. Ultimately, I want to transition into acting.” As far as a fantasy shoot, one day we may find Angel posing in an exotic location under a waterfall. “Vivid colors, tropical setting, followed by a cool drink... sounds good to me!”

The New Face of Chanel No. 5 - Audrey Tatou

Keira Knightley has done it, so has Nicole Kidman, and also Catherine Deneuve... Now French actress Audrey Tatou has made a commercial for Chanel No. 5 perfume. The actress, known for her work in "Amelie," plays a single girl on a romantic train ride with destiny -- and a hot young guy, who is enchanted by her beauty and her fragrance!

Watch the video

The commercial is directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who also made Amelie, and was filmed in Nice and on the Bosphorus in Istanbul. The concept was inspired by the Oscar-nominated film "A Very Long Engagement." Tatou -- set to portray the title role of Coco Chanel in Anne Fontaine's new film "Coco avant Chanel" -- found the whole experience "hard to believe."

No. 5 is still the top-selling perfume in the world, almost 90 years after Chanel first created it.

That's how I got my start!"

Makeup Artist Cindy Cohen Works Her Magic for Maxim

Makeup Artist Cindy Cohen Works Her Magic for Maxim

Cindy Cohen
(OMP Member #43096)
has been perfecting the art of makeup design for the past 20 years. She got her start in the business by working in a department store on Long Island in New York, demonstrating techniques to customers. Her efforts paid off recently when her work was featured on the cover of Maxim Magazine Spanish Edition.

She first joined OneModelPlace.com in 2003, after photographer she was shooting with introduced her to the site. Since then, she has been able to display her work on OMP to professional commercial photographers who would in turn contact her about hiring her for assignments.

In addition to Maxim, Cindy’s other clients have included Harley Davidson and Simply the Best magazine.

She points out the differences between doing makeup for magazine shoots and fashion shows. “The makeup for the camera is more exact because it is a still shot. A runway show is live and the models are constantly moving, so the makeup doesn't have to be as exact, because the naked eye is not exact.”

Cindy has some advice for people interested in makeup careers. “Pick the type of makeup you want to excel in, and the medium, and become an expert in those areas. I chose photographic makeup and I excel in clean beauty.”

She also has an inspiring message for anyone in the arts. “To be good at anything. you have to really love what you do and have a passion for the work.”

Luana Sizzles as OMP's Hot Model of the Day

Luana OMP Model #155259 is a marvelous model originally from Hawaii who currently resides in Southern California. This petite powerhouse has been modeling professionally for five years, ever since she turned 18, and is a fan favorite in the glamour photography industry.

She got her start as a model back in Hawaii. "I was shooting with local photographers, trying to build my portfolio and make some money. One Model Place was there since the beginning of my career, and I booked a lot of work just by posting images on my profile and responding to some of the modeling inquiries coming in. Then I met David of ModFXModels.com and started my own website, which allowed me to build a fanbase."

One of the busiest working models in the business, Luana reveals some of her favorite modeling assignments. "Modeling for Mystique Magazine has been my favorite assignment by far. They have flown me out to exotic places such as Tahiti, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Kauai. I've always enjoyed being in front of Mark Daughn's camera because he is just a genius when it comes to bringing out the best in models, and his lighting is impeccable. Shooting for Playboy also helped me gain recognition in the glamour industry."

Playboy came calling on Luana after seeing her on One Model Place. "OMP was the largest model networking site back when I started, and it's still the largest today. I actually booked my Playboy shoot from OMP! There are many industry professionals here, so being active in the online community really puts your face out there."

Luana offers some great advice for other models who want to get their careers jump-started. "Figure out what type of modeling you are most interested in. Ask yourself what styles are you best suited for. Find your strengths, and then focus on highlighting them. It's important to showcase your special unique qualities. Of course, you also want to show your versatility as a model. Finally, be sure to think over your decisions carefully and remember to give yourself a little reality check once in a while."

MTV Has Designs on "The Stylist" Reality Show

The Hollywood Reporter is announcing that MTV plans to air a reality show featuring up-and-coming fashion designers.

According to the industry website, MTV is "getting into the fashion-competition space with a new project from 'The Real World' producers Bunim-Murray. The network is set to announce a series order for 'The Stylist' on Tuesday during its upfront presentation to advertisers. On the show, a group of fashion stylists -- design-savvy professionals who assemble clothes and accessories for celebrities and models -- compete for a contract with a major agency. 'The Stylist' marks a slight departure for the network. MTV has aired occupation-based competition series, including 'Miss Seventeen,' but 'Stylist's' format also would be at home on such networks as Bravo, TLC and the CW. The number of episodes and 'Stylist' premiere date are not known."

In case you are a rebellious teenager in love, you may also want to get cast on MTV dating show "Parental Control."

The sixth-season order of 80 episodes has be approved, and according to the site, will make the show MTV's "longest-running dating series, with more than 200 episodes. On the show, frustrated parents attempt to get rid of their son or daughter's significant other by setting them up on blind dates."

"Parental Control" is from Reveille, with Princess Prods. owning the original format. Both are divisions of Shine Group.

Take a Break from Boring Fashion at The Shade Post!

From OMP Roving Reporter Sean Murdock OMP Member #87469

Designer Kayce Armstrong opened her new design house "The Shade Post" recently in Hollywood, Florida. Kayce is a friend of mine and one of the best designers I have ever had the pleasure of shooting for. Kayce is an artist first, and all else seems to fall into place second, at least in my opinion. She always breaks out of the norm and seems to push into a higher level in her work. I see a lot of people afraid to break through boundries in color, cut and style -- they fall short of something amazing. Kayce pushes right on by and leaves behind a wake of masterpieces hanging on the racks.

Her line of clothing is recycled or cut apart pieces from existing clothing that she reclaims and makes into her fabulous couture line. Being a bit of a hippie mixed with a punk rock edge myself, I can truly appreciate this type of re-design.

Kayce is a wild child herself -- she rocks her own clothing as well as the models hired for the runways. This year alone Kayce and I had the priviledge of shooting the D.C. based "Fashion Fights Poverty" campaign together, and her dresses are bound for the new Lancome and Jean Paul Gaultier perfume launches. This rock star image and the immense talent combined in one person are bound to send Kayce skyrocketing to the top.

OMP Competition Winner Melany Celebrates Spring Break in Style

Melany OMP Model #187580 enjoyed the Spring Break adventure of a lifetime this year, as the winner of our latest OMP Competition. As part of the Classmate USA Spring Break Model Search, the San Diego stunner spent a few days in Panama City Beach posing for calendar pics and soaking in the sun.

Her vacation allowed her to escape her hectic schedule as a model, actress, and spokesmodel. “The trip was really fun and I met a lot of nice people. Also, it was definitely more mellow and relaxing than past Spring Breaks I have been on.”

She offers the following advice for models who want to join future OMP Competitions. “Just make sure that your photos in your port show a wide variety. And remember, your main photo should be very eye-catching!”

If Melany looks familiar, it’s because she has been featured in many films, television, magazines, ads, and industry events. For Playboy, she has appeared in the Feb. 2009 issue as well as on the website as a Cybergirl. She’s been seen at the Playboy Mansion frequently hosting events and bodypainted as one of Hef’s painted ladies.

The stunning beauty admits she has a very versatile look. “I am Venezuelan, so I am like a chameleon –- I have many different looks.” She has modeled for 5 years, ever since she started participating in pageants.

This sexy siren also has an athletic side as well. “One of my favorite assignments is my participation on the Lingerie Football League. You can go to LFLUS.com and see my team roster – I play for the San Diego Seduction!”

Melany also gets physical whenever she prepares to get in front of a camera. “Working out is a great way to prepare for photo shoots. I pretty much live at the gym, because I love to work out! I also go tanning to have a nice glow.”

She points out that there are several rewards and challenges that come with a career in modeling. “The reward is the end result, when you see the beautiful photos that you and so many talented people worked so hard for and created together. A major challenge is that some poses are a little painful to hold, but they are the poses always come out the best in the photos!”

As for advice for models just starting out, Melany relates, “Never give up, even if people reject you! And practice makes perfect, so just keep practicing your poses and you will be on your way to becoming a really great model.”

Amanda Redd is On the Attack and In the Grapevine!

Los Angeles-based model Amanda Redd (OMP Model #267294) has two new projects that are sure to boost her profile in the modeling world. First, she is being featured on the G4 network’s “Attack of the Show” in their sexy “Women of the Web” segment. Her episode begins airing on Thursday, April 9th. Coming in May, she will be featured in Playboy Magazine in their notorious Grapevine section.

Modeling for the past several years, Amanda first got her start when a good friend started doing photography under the name Blue Lotus Art ( OMP Member 184708 ) and asked her to pose for some photos. Since then, she has graced the cover of OMP’s SNAP! and Birmingham Shops magazine

Amanda relates that One Model Place has helped her find exposure in the industry as well as multiple modeling assignments. She enjoys assignments where she can travel to exotic places like Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Lately, she has been getting booked as an underwater model with Broder Photography ( OMP Member 4703 ).

The opportunity to appear in Playboy’s Grapevine section was the result of a photo shoot with Alabama photographer dK ( OMP Member 4703 ). “Josh Robertson, an editor at Playboy in NYC, contacted me about using one of the images I shot with dK that he'd seen. I really appreciated that Josh asks the model's permission to publish the image, even if she does not have the rights to said image.”

The opportunity to be showcased on “Attack of the Show” was through a more personal connection. “My boyfriend Eric Campos and Chris Gore have worked together for a long time on filmthreat.com. I started doing photography and I wanted to do a shoot with Chris and my Eric wearing some of my modeling clothes... which we did (needless to say it's hilarious and I hope to make a book out of the series and give the proceeds to a GLT organization). I told Chris I was a huge fan of ‘AOTS’ so he brought me along to a taping of the show. We ran into the producer of the ‘Women of the Web’ segment, I gave him my card... and the rest is history. Basically, it was a case of being in the right place at the right time... and of course following the producer on Facebook so that he wouldn't forget about me.”

Amanda offers some advice for other models who want to promote themselves. “Network, network, network. And never be afraid to ask... the worst that could happen is you get a ‘no.’”

Eighth and Over

By John Fisher OMP Member 3327

It's the end of an era here in South Beach. As of Friday the 13th, the (late) great Irene Marie agency is no more.

Back in the day, two small agencies moved from the Miami area to South Beach. In those days, this took some foresight, South Beach was a rough place, probably the most dangerous area of Miami. Drug gangs, run down seedy hotels, and blue haired old ladies dominated the landscape. Think "Scarface" (most of it actually shot in South Beach), that's what South Beach was like. When they were shooting episodes of Miami Vice (1984 to 1989) in South Beach, the buildings were so run down they were often repainted to make the show look more appealing. But all of that changed when Irene Marie and Michele Pommier moved to the beach.

About that time, A young girl from Fort Lauderdale walked into Irene Marie's office, and at 14 the sun didn't set on Niki Taylor. The rush was on, and before you knew it, Ford had opened an office on Ocean Drive at the News Cafe, then Elite followed opening in the Marlin Hotel on Collins Avenue. Michele Pommier had a building 81 Washington Avenue in those days. There has always been a dispute over whether Michele or Irene moved from Miami to South Beach first, it doesn't matter, both were responsible for the resurrection of the Beach. When I first came to South Beach (February, 1997) Irene Marie had the better known agency outside of South Florida (because of Niki), but Michele Pommier was considered the best agency for women locally.

In 1993, flush with the success of Niki Taylor and the potential of Niki's younger sister, Krissy, Irene opened offices in Atlanta and New York ("IM New York"? A name unlikely to ingratiate yourself with the tough New York crowd!). Unfortunately with a number of unexpected problems (including the unfortunate and unexpected death of Krissy Taylor due to heart failure), Irene had to close the New York office and rebuild her agency in South Beach. Still, she took her shot and I give Irene her props for making the bold move.

By the late '90s a combination of higher costs (as South Beach became more popular), unfavorable exchange rates (the dollar soared against the Euro), and the simple fact that South Beach was no longer the "hot new place" made other winter locations (such as Cape Town, South Africa) increasingly more attractive to the magazine and catalog crowd. Then came 9/11, 2001 was a difficult year for everyone here in South Beach. By 2003 things were on the upswing again, the fact that we had an established infrastructure (labs, studios, production companies, and for 5 months the most beautiful weather in the world!) brought back the Europeans, particularly the Germans (who love South Beach).

Unfortunately all things eventually come to an end. For many years have I recommended Irene Marie first as an agency any new model should consider here in Miami. But the struggling world wide economy has taken it's toll, and one of the grand dames of South Beach is no more. Irene Marie will be missed. Eighth and Ocean is now Eighth and Over.

The hand having writ, moves on.

Tantalizing Texan Jessie is OMP's Latest Hot Model of the Day!

Tantalizing Texan Jessie is our OMP Hot Model of the Day -- http://www.onemodelplace.com/member.cfm?ID=176980

See below for an exclusive interview with Jessie!

If you want to be considered for Hot Model of the Day, simply send your name and OMP ID# to newseditor@onemodelplace.com!

Jessie OMP Model #176980 has accomplished a lot in the past few years since she started modeling. She made the top three in the OMP Bikini Model of the Year competition, as well as participated in an exclusive photo shoot with the site. In addition to her other modeling assignments, she had a beauty spread in the magazine MEME2.

This busy Texan balances her datebook the best way she knows how - by prioritizing. "It is difficult, but I try to keep priorities in line. School, modeling, then work!"

As soon as she turned 18, Jessie began doing promotional modeling because she felt comfortable interacting with people. "After getting my headshot taken for a promotions team I was working for, I realized my talent for being in front of the camera. My passion for the industry encouraged me to keep strengthening my ability to pose and convey personality to the camera."

Her preparation for any photo shoot begins with a style session. "The first thing I do is determine the styling for the shoot. I love to use my creativity to put together the wardrobe, depending on the clients' needs. I try to provide my clients with many options regarding wardrobe. Next of course is to shower up and be sure my hair and skin are clean and manageable for the styling team. Then I gather my things and leave early enough to get a bite to eat and still arrive at the studio 15 minutes early."

Jessie's future goals include modeling and acting. "I hope to excel in my acting and one day be a part of a comedy series such as 'Desperate Housewives' or 'Friends.' Then I hope to grace the covers of magazines telling my story of how I got there."
Her background as a model helps Jessie in her acting pursuits. I love becoming someone else when the camera is rolling! I have learned how to express emotions that I am not necessarily feeling in print, and I know that is a necessity in film!"

Her inspirations as a model include a popular and very un-desperate "Housewife." "One of my inspirations is Eva Longoria. She is not only a great actress but she is a model as well. She gives me hope because she is very petite and short like I am."

During a shoot, Jessie reminds models to "concentrate on your angles and positioning in comparison to the photographer's camera angle." She would also like to tell models to follow their own path to success rather than listening to others. "Do not conform to someone else's version of you."

Modelween 2008 a Spooky Success!

For those OMP models and members who were lucky enough to attend our 2008 Modelween events this past weekend, there's no need to tell you how frighteningly fun they were! If you weren't able to attend our Halloween parties in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Southern California, you missed a scary good time! From our guest hosts Tommy Lee and DJ Aero in South Florida to our crazy costume contest in Orange County, partygoers joined in on the fun way past midnight.

One eyewitness to the Tommy Lee experience had this to say:
"The music was loud, louder than I have ever heard a DJ play. My ears are still ringing two days later, but what's to be expected from a rock and roll legend? Tommy Lee from the historic band Motley Crue hosted club Karu & Y's Modelween Event for One Model Place last Friday in Miami. He spun an amazing set of rock/house music that was surprisingly very good. I wasn't sure what to expect from a rocker turned DJ but I was very happy with his performance.
"The club was packed to the brim in every room. Karu & Y is massive and well in the realm of superclubs. There were outdoor gardens and little nooks with tables to hide away in. I will have to check the place out on a normal night to really see the layout since I could barely move with thousands of dancing people swaying about. If you were there, you know... If not, sorry you missed this epic night."

Check back for more details, and keep an eye out for next year's event schedule at www.onemodelplace.com.

Up Close and Personal with Maxim's New Hometown Hottie

SNEAK PREVIEW OF EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW ONLY AVAILABLE ON ONEMODELPLACE.COM

Brunette beauty Erin McKinnon OMP Model #304174 , who recently was crowned Maxim Magazine's "Hometown Hottie" winner, almost didn't enter the competition. "I was getting ready for the Miss Florida USA pageant, so I didn't publicize the Maxim contest at all. I actually tried to drop out of the competition when I was in the top 100 because it was stirring up a lot of commotion with the 'Pageant People.' Luckily for me, Icehouse was sponsoring the contest and because of that sponsorship I wasn't able to drop out. Not to mention the fact that everything had already gone to print."

Erin readily admits that no one was more surprised than her when she won the competition. "I flew up to NYC to do some press for the finalists. I just thought I was the only girl that was able to go to NYC at the time. I walked in for my interview and everyone screamed, 'Congratulations!' I was floored and thought the whole thing was a big joke. I kept thinking that this should be happening to someone else."

She had a great time at the party that Icehouse and Maxim threw for all of the finalists in South Beach. "That was the first time I had ever been out in South Beach, and it was amazing. I also met a lot of people at the event – I don't think I can ever attend a party without networking. There are some pictures on the Maxim photo blog that basically describe it all. The cool part of the night is when they introduced us at the club. I think that was the first time it really hit me that I had won."
