Model Marisa is a True Teen Talent

Marisa aka GreenEyesDiva (OMP Model #321459) is a 16-year-old model from Florida. Modeling for over three years, she has a wide range of experience in the industry.

While Marisa’s main focus is on commercial and fashion assignments, she has recently branched out to more creative ventures. “One of my recent photo shoots was in the OMP Studio in Fort Lauderdale. I got to wear some crazy outfits -- it was the best time I have had on a shoot.”

She travels a lot for her career, both in and out of state. “I have worked in California with some amazing photographers that gave me some amazing photos. I have also shoot in Georgia and all over Florida.”

This talented teen decided to try modeling after seeing her sister become successful at it, “I love the process of taking pictures and preparing for shoots. I just love being in front of the camera.”

She is grateful to One Model Place for helping her to get more images for her portfolio, and allowing her to not only meet wonderful photographers and agents but also to make some good friends in the industry.

Citing Brooke Shields as a role model, Marisa offers some of her own advice for models who are just starting out, “I would tell new models to just be yourself and work hard and never give up on your dreams.”

Paulina is NOT America's Next Top Judge!

Janice Dickinson, Twiggy, and now Paulina... They are NOT still in the running to be a guest judge on future seasons of "America's Next Top Model."

Iconic supermodel Paulina Porizkova announced on the "Late, Late Show with Crag Ferguson" that she was fired recently -- on her birthday, no less -- from the popular model search show.

"Listen, do you know why I am in Los Angeles? Because I am looking for a job. Because I was fired by America's Next Top Model on my birthday. The reason I was told I was fired was because, it seemed, that America's Next Top Model has gotten too fat and they needed to cut some fat and the fat was me. So I figured it was either that, or my gigantic huge ego. Which I wasn't aware of until I was told by the producers that I have an ego problem."

"Top Model," hosted by Tyra Banks, is currently wrapping up its 12th cycle.

Angel is Our Hot Model of the Day

Angel (OMP Model #106020) started modeling four years ago, after she was approached at the mall by a model scout. “I went online to see if the company was legit, and I found One Model Place. I took some pictures in the backyard,
posted them on OMP, and have been modeling ever since. Photographers saw my pictures and I started building my book.”

The Detroit, Michigan model loves to shoot creative images involving fashion, beauty, and makeup. She also enjoys location shoots in interesting places. Some of her favorite assignments include shooting for FPStyle, Brickers-Tunis Furs, Rite Aid Nationwide, and Avlon.

OMP has helped Angel’s career in many ways. “As I mentioned, OMP is where I got my start, so that is how it has helped me the most. It gave me the tools I needed to get started. Also, being cast in the pilot for the OMP-sponsored reality series “Shut Up and Model” was fun and definitely a learning experience for me as a new model.”

The “Shut Up and Model” shoot featured Angel and a group of sexy competitors posing for photo shoots and competing in challenges. “We had a lot of fun. It was nice to get out and meet models and photographers from around the country. I learned a lot and grew as a model, and had fun doing it. It was still work and I think it's the first time I had experienced a 5am call time!”

Angel offers this advice to models just starting out. “Do your homework! Don't get scammed! And shoot as much as you can. Build friendships and great working relationships with models and photographers alike. You learn a lot and it may even lead to recommendations on your behalf to clients.”

The brunette beauty would love to do more print work in the future. “My big dream is to be a CoverGirl. I'd love to shoot for more companies locally and nationwide. Ultimately, I want to transition into acting.” As far as a fantasy shoot, one day we may find Angel posing in an exotic location under a waterfall. “Vivid colors, tropical setting, followed by a cool drink... sounds good to me!”

"Real World" Glamour Lighting: Setup 1

This is the first in a series of submissions by Don Becker of db Creative Images Photography (OMP Member #155)

I just read one more blurb describing an expensive workshop with all of the wonderful instructors, massive amounts of state-of-the-art equipment, thousands of dollars worth of props, and 10 or 12 flawless, gorgeous models who were begging to donate their time to have the opportunity to get photographed in these workshops. Yes, I am jealous! I would LOVE to be invited to photograph in the OMP studios in Fort Lauderdale, or anyplace else that this happens! But really, do you need all of that to get great photographs? And, I wonder how many attendees returned home having learned techniques that they could really use in their own photography?

My situation is different. I have a power pack with a few heads, a couple rolls of 107" wide background paper (I only seem to use the white and the black ones... I will get into that in a later article), a few props that I also use around the house (couple of chairs, a small folding step stool, a few pieces of jewelry and cloth, etc.), and my ingenuity. Maybe your situation is similar to mine. I know that the budding professional photographers that I teach in the school where I am a faculty member don't even have as much equipment as I do. So I try to teach them to understand what the lights are DOING, regardless of whether they are 100 watt light bulbs, photoflood lights, quartz-halogen continuous lights, small portable flash units, or a real studio flash system.... you can get the same results with any of them. This is especially true with digital capture, where you can "tune" the white balance in the camera to get the colors you want... and if necessary, tune them some more in Photoshop!

What I am going to do is describe one glamour lighting setup, using a black background, and shown below in diagram form. I am using two heads on my power pack, both BEHIND the model, one at a 135° angle from the camera to the left, and the other at a 135° angle from the camera to the right. Those two lights outline the model, giving hot, specular highlights on both sides of the model. Then, I have a large reflector directly between the model and the camera, with an 8" diameter hole in the reflector, to shoot through. I made this reflector myself from two 2'x6' pieces of ½ " white FomCor, taped together on the long end, angled so it will stand up by itself.

This reflector provides the main/key light, which is the only light shining on the front of the model. Finally, there are a number of "flags" (e.g., 2'x3' pieces of cardboard or equivalent, clamped to light stands) to shield the camera lens and the background from the high intensity of the direct flash heads, as shown in the diagram.

Presto, you have a wonderful soft lighting system that is very flattering to the model and also dynamic by virtue of the strong outline of the models face, hair and figure. You do have to be careful and watch that the model does not have bright lights on parts of her face or body that would detract from the final image. Now, take a close look at the lighting diagram to make sure you understand what all of the parts are doing, and then see how this lighting works on beautiful OMP model Becca (in green, OMP #78437) and on the pretty "tween" model Brandi (OMP #326296).

Now, try it yourself, and see what you can do with a setup like this. I bet you will like it!

Good Shooting!

Megan Fox's Esquire Cover Shot in Video

The cover for the June issue of Esquire magazine was shot in video... Yes, video! The video-captured cover of actress Megan Fox is turning heads in the magazine industry, which brings into question the fate of traditional SLR photography.

Photographer Greg Williams videotaped the cover shoot with his 4K Red ONE video camera, while Fox "acted out a scene for 10 minutes." The June 2009 cover of Esquire featured the best frame from that video. The issue is available on newsstands May 10. The rest of the video is to be featured on the Esquire site -- here's the link:

Fetish Favorite Kess M is OMP's Hot Model of the Day!

Our OMP Hot Model of the Day, Kess M OMP Model #407341 has only pursued her modeling career for a little over a year, but she is already a familiar face on the scene. And to think, she didn't even want to become a model! She relates, "My friend dragged me to a group shoot when I was staying with her, and everyone kept asking me if I was one of the models. That's how I got my start!"

Primarily known for her artistic and fetish work, Kess explains that she likes any assignment "that lets me pose and be bendy. Or where I get to shoot with another girl."

This Jersey girl has some great advice for other models starting out. "Go there. It may feel funny, may look funny, but when you look at the final product, you can figure out what looks food. Then you have your own collection of fun funky poses that people will want to hire you for."

Kess M's goals as a model include modeling fulltime and getting in print. "I just hope that I can make this my career! I'm always trying to get better. Someday I might even make it in to a publication. That would be fancy, heh?"

Make a Difference This Summer!

One Model Place models and photographers in the DC area are making a difference this summer through fashion and modeling,

Earlier this year, OMP photographer PeterP aka Jamie Forhan (OMP Member #213963) formed a charitable corporation called the Munchkin Fund. He called on the OMP community for help and our members responded. George Will (OMP Member #12506) is the Fund’s Treasurer and Dr. Frederic Abramson, father of OMP model Drew (OMP Model #398769), is a board member.

Jamie set out to help another charitable organization, the Philippines Institute for the Deaf, by organizing a small charity fashion show. He again turned to the OMP community for models, and the OMP community responded again. The OMP charity fashion models have since become known as Jamie’s Angels.

Here's an update on the Angels:
--Miranda Marie (OMP Model #392000) created the fashion show's first webpage on MySpace and recently moved everything to its new home, www.munchkinfund.org.
--Tamaran (OMP Model #380130) has recently taken over maintenance of the site.
-- Katya (OMP Model #404917), Krys (OMP Model #403714), Sherryne (OMP Model #239886) and Jenna (OMP Model #392475) will be featured models at Saturday’s In the Click in Washington, DC. The In the Click will be at held at the studio of OMP photographer CEASAR, Studio 10, 2828 10th St. NE, Washington DC 20017 from 11AM-3PM. A portion of what they earn will benefit the Fund.
--The Angels will be involved in many other activities over the summer to help various charities in the DMV. On May 23rd, they’ll all be celebrating PeterP's birthday by attending the 8th annual Maryland BBQ and Car Show in Severn, Maryland where Sherryne is a featured model helping to raise money for the Childhood Cancer Association.

PeterP will be going direct from the In the Click to the Frugal Fashionista’s Clothing Swap, where other OMP Photographers and makeup artists will be helping organizer Kim Pratt raise money for Bethany House of NOVA. Anyone is welcome to join him and help out.

The original fashion show was intended to be marketed to the public but the response has been overwhelming from the OMP community and the fashion community in the DC area. Cable Channel 44 has asked to broadcast it to the DC area as well as five South American countries and the Philippines. A local videographer will be filming a documentary about the fashion show for broadcast to Southeast Asia. Angel Katya will be moving to Senegal in a few months and will continue modeling on her return trips to the US as well as Europe. So word of the Fund has already spread to five continents. Can Australia be far behind?

As news of the show has spread through the OMP network, fashion photographers and designers have lent their support and several are planning to be at the In the Click. The original fashion show will now be a dress rehearsal for the OMP community. It will be at Ebenezer’s Coffee House, 201 F Street NE, Washington DC 20002 on May 31st from 6-9. The venue seats 100. The first 75 tickets will go on sale soon and 25 will be reserved for the designers and other sponsors.

Discussions are underway with one of the designers to organize a major fashion show later this summer with a committment to raise $100,000 over the next year.

Jamie invites everyone for the One Model Place community to come to the In the Click on April 18 to meet the Angels, get involved, and “make a difference.”

Melissa Jean Get Major "Cover"-age in Playboy

One Model Place is proud to present the new Playboy Natural Beauties cover featuring OMP model Melissa Jean, shot by fellow OMP member Jarmo Pohjaniemi!

Melissa Jean has been modeling for over four years, and got her start while collaborating with an artist in Arizona. “I met a local photographer and I told him I wanted to be a model. We began shooting nearly every day in his small home studio, everything from fashion to glamour to figure studies. Then we began to put together my online portfolio at OneModelPlace.com. He showed me the travel notice feature, and we both thought it would be fun to go out on the road so I could work with other people and have a unique experience. I didn't have any obligations at the time so I decided to go for it.”

The pair traveled around for photo shoots throughout 2005. “We traveled to Arizona, California, Las Vegas, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico, and I worked with about 60 different photographers. In my first year of modeling, I was on the cover and featured in a book called ‘Artistic Nude Poses’ by Joel Gilgoff as well as a calendar for the Bohemian Men's Club in San Francisco. I was featured in several car calendars and Surfer Magazine Online. I did a variety of different photo shoots and it was quite an experience to say the least.”

Melissa Jean moved to Florida in January of 2007 and started working as a massage therapist. By the end of the year, however, she was back on OMP and started shooting again. “This time I was doing it on my own and didn't have any travel expenses. I already knew the ins and outs of the biz and was able to book my own shoots. Real quickly things began to pick back up again as I started working with photographers in South Florida.”

She credits One Model Place with keeping her working. “All of my modeling work thus far has been generated from One Model Place. I would not be where I am if it wasn't for OMP. I am very fortunate to be a part of the largest modeling/photography portfolio hosting site on the web.”

OMP was directly responsible when Playboy first took notice of the sexy brunette one year ago. “In May 2008, Jarmo Pohjaniemi, a contributing Playboy photographer, found me on One Model Place and read my blog regarding my wanting to get breast implants. He was pretty persistent and insisted that I let them see me natural first, because natural girls get first pick. I was surprised to hear that! I was very busy with my massage job and also traveling at the time, so I let a few months go by as I thought about the offer. In June of 2008 I went to his home in South Beach for a test shoot, and after 20 snapshots he said, ‘Okay, You're done!’ He sent the photos to the editors in Chicago and L.A., and about a month and a half later said, ‘We would like to shoot you for Special Editions.’ I was ecstatic… this was the biggest modeling opportunity I had ever had. Two months later we did the shoot!”

The shoot turned out to be a great experience, even though the model admits it was the “most physically challenging shoot” she had ever done. “They had me in awkward glamour poses I did not know existed… of course, the most difficult ones turned out to be the most stunning! It was a long day, which started in the makeup chair at 7am, and ended after three sets around 6pm. They also have a long questionnaire for you to fill out in-between sets. So it's a very busy day! Jarmo, Mary, and their crew worked very efficiently, and the day went very smoothly. They are totally professional and great to work with!”

The model, who is also an actress and spokesmodel, shares some advice with other aspiring talents. “Do check references on people who contact you to shoot, and if you can, bring someone with you on the shoot. Also, learn to do your own makeup! A lot of times you will not have a makeup artist available. Practice makes perfect. And, oh yes, never mix business with pleasure. Take my word -- it just doesn't work!”

Heather Sizzles as OMP's Hot Model of the Day

Heather OMP Model #74727 has been modeling for the past 7 years. She got her start by going to a modeling school, but soon after got a big revelation. "I realized that with a little work and doing some TFPs I could be where I am today without investing in modeling schools."

Having started as a youth model, Heather likes to describe herself as a wholesome model with a lot of versatility and range. She tries to maintain that versatile nature as she has grown into a woman. "The transformation for me was relatively easy. I have managed to keep a youthful look with a bit of an edge."

The California girl loves out of the box photo shoots with over the top wardrobe and makeup. "My most memorable shoot was the mermaid images I did with photographer Dave Feiling OMP Member 3407 . The styling was an adventure. It all started by roaming the beach and collecting just the right pieces of seaweed for 'coverage.' Then we were off to a fish market to take pictures of a real fish tail to Photoshop into the picture. It was a ton of fun and the pictures came out awesome!"

She takes extra care to be prepared for each photo shoot. "I always plan out my clothing and everything I need the day before so I can have the morning to think about what I need to do for the shoot that day. I bring a positive attitude, ready to shoot."

Heather enjoys modeling in South California for several reasons. "You can't beat the weather and with the variety of locations and scenery, the possibilities are endless. And then there is the advantage of having a lot of very talented stylists, MUAs, and photographers to work with in the area."

Heather doesn't remember how she first heard of One Model Place, which she says "makes me feel old!" She does recall how much the site has helped her achieve her career goals. "OMP has been invaluable for my career by providing me with exposure to wonderful photographers and models all over the country who are willing to help me gain more experience."

Heather suggests that beginning models resist the urge to get high expectations right away. "If you are just starting out as a model, you'll need a lot of patience. Anything worthwhile doesn't come quickly. Also, don't be discouraged by the rejection, it may be that your look just isn't right for a given job, but will be perfect for the next one. Always try to raise the bar on the quality of work you do. Don't be afraid to say 'No' if a project won't benefit your career in a positive way."

For young models who grow up in the business like Heather did, she offers the following piece of advice. "Know the market you are trying to pursue and keep your focus. Networking is invaluable, you never know when or who may be your avenue to success."

Amanda Redd is On the Attack and In the Grapevine!

Los Angeles-based model Amanda Redd (OMP Model #267294) has two new projects that are sure to boost her profile in the modeling world. First, she is being featured on the G4 network’s “Attack of the Show” in their sexy “Women of the Web” segment. Her episode begins airing on Thursday, April 9th. Coming in May, she will be featured in Playboy Magazine in their notorious Grapevine section.

Modeling for the past several years, Amanda first got her start when a good friend started doing photography under the name Blue Lotus Art ( OMP Member 184708 ) and asked her to pose for some photos. Since then, she has graced the cover of OMP’s SNAP! and Birmingham Shops magazine

Amanda relates that One Model Place has helped her find exposure in the industry as well as multiple modeling assignments. She enjoys assignments where she can travel to exotic places like Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Lately, she has been getting booked as an underwater model with Broder Photography ( OMP Member 4703 ).

The opportunity to appear in Playboy’s Grapevine section was the result of a photo shoot with Alabama photographer dK ( OMP Member 4703 ). “Josh Robertson, an editor at Playboy in NYC, contacted me about using one of the images I shot with dK that he'd seen. I really appreciated that Josh asks the model's permission to publish the image, even if she does not have the rights to said image.”

The opportunity to be showcased on “Attack of the Show” was through a more personal connection. “My boyfriend Eric Campos and Chris Gore have worked together for a long time on filmthreat.com. I started doing photography and I wanted to do a shoot with Chris and my Eric wearing some of my modeling clothes... which we did (needless to say it's hilarious and I hope to make a book out of the series and give the proceeds to a GLT organization). I told Chris I was a huge fan of ‘AOTS’ so he brought me along to a taping of the show. We ran into the producer of the ‘Women of the Web’ segment, I gave him my card... and the rest is history. Basically, it was a case of being in the right place at the right time... and of course following the producer on Facebook so that he wouldn't forget about me.”

Amanda offers some advice for other models who want to promote themselves. “Network, network, network. And never be afraid to ask... the worst that could happen is you get a ‘no.’”

Vegas is the Place for WPPI

WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) holds its Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas, NV each year in either February or March. Attendance for this year reached nearly 12,000 photographers from around the world, including China, New Zealand, Canada and South America, as well as from all 50 States. This year was the first at the MGM Grand venue; a move necessitated by the growing Trade Show and expanded Class offerings.

The photographers who attend are a diversified group, primarily involved with all types of portraiture and wedding photography. For them, the Convention focuses on two specific areas: Education and the Trade Show exhibits. Classes and workshops are offered on every imaginable topic, from posing to business techniques to Photoshop tools, and many are included in the basic registration fee ($249 for WPPI members) and others for additional fees. This year’s Trade Show exhibit presented over 300 vendors, and was the place to learn about all the latest in camera gear, accessories and software. Retailers like Samys, B&H, and Midwest Photo were all there with some really great Show Specials. How about a Pocket Wizard for only $119! Backdrops and props, lighting and frames, no matter what, it was there!

One of the Vendors we met was a group out of San Diego calling themselves the Boudoir Divas (www.THEBOUDOIRDIVAS.com) who offer courses from setting up a boudoir oriented studio to posing techniques. Another vendor, Triple Scoop Music, offers an amazing variety of royalty free background music for your slide shows. While not cheap, at least you don’t have to worry about being sued for ripping off music from commercial sources! Find them at www.TripleScoopmusic.com.

We noticed that the opportunities for models to find work here was rather limited. While some vendors do employ live models, many are drawn from local agencies in Vegas. Models can sign up with some agencies with no fees involved and will have a better chance to work. Try www.glamourgroup-models.com as a start. Also, models can attend the Tradeshow for just $15 and pass out biz cards or Zed cards and make some contacts that way. Be sure your OMP # is listed! Many of the photographers set up shoots for during or for just after the Convention at places like Red Rock Canyon, the Strip, or in rented hotel suites. Models, don’t forget to post your travel dates so we’ll know you’ll be there.

We also wanted to make a special mention of friend to OMP- Jay Gupta, owner of Backdrop Outlet. He and his wife Karen and their fantastic team do a great job at supplying the best in backgrounds, props and accessories for any OMP member’s studio. They are working to broaden their relationship with OMP and its members. Look for a special event being worked on for OMP members at next year’s WPPI.

Aside from a few logistical problems that naturally come with a major change of venue, we greatly enjoyed the show. The new Trade Show floor is roomier with wider isles, making it easier to view demonstrations at the booths and to see the new products. Photographers who attend this event will find a wealth of opportunities. It’s an investment in yourself and in your education towards becoming a better, savvier photographer. It offers a chance to meet up with old friends, and network with new ones. Next years dates are March 4-11, 2010 and the Convention will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. For more information go to www.wppionline.com Hope you can make it!

NY Models - Still in the "Running" for "Top Model" After Stampede?

UPDATE FROM ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: America's Next Top Model host Tyra Banks announced in a statement that she and the show's producers are "doing everything we can" to audition "ALL the girls" who were turned away Saturday after the show's New York City auditions ended in a melee that caused injuries and three arrests. "It is so important to me to...make sure that everyone gets a fair chance to pursue their dream," said Banks in the statement. The 13th cycle of the series is the first time women 5' 7" and shorter have been allowed to audition for the show.

HERE'S THE STORY... It is not clear what caused the stamped at the recent NYC auditions for "America's Next Top Model." We may never know the reason, but several people seem to have their own theories...

For those of you who did not hear about it, the top-rated show got a bit of bad press the other day when a crowd of 10,000 hopefuls waiting outside the Park Central hotel crushed together in a panic, sending two young models to the hospital and even more home with injuries. The unique thing about this season of ANTM is that the focus this year is on shorter models who are under 5'7" instead of the normal 5'9" and up runway models.

Some witnesses say the chaos started when a car that was overheating passed the line of models, prompting one girl to call out "There's a bomb!" and sending everyone running. Other reports say that someone screamed "Fire!" Then there is the version where a fight began between the contestants and two men were stealing models' purses.

Host Tyra Banks released a joint statement with executive producer Ken Moke, saying: “We are concerned by the events that occurred Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of the New York City casting call for the next cycle of 'America's Next Top Model. At this time, we still don't know all the details of what happened or what triggered the incident. We appreciate the efforts of the NYPD and will assist them in any way possible in this matter."

After the fracas, three people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and inciting a riot. The casting call was shut down by the police.

Eighth and Over

By John Fisher OMP Member 3327

It's the end of an era here in South Beach. As of Friday the 13th, the (late) great Irene Marie agency is no more.

Back in the day, two small agencies moved from the Miami area to South Beach. In those days, this took some foresight, South Beach was a rough place, probably the most dangerous area of Miami. Drug gangs, run down seedy hotels, and blue haired old ladies dominated the landscape. Think "Scarface" (most of it actually shot in South Beach), that's what South Beach was like. When they were shooting episodes of Miami Vice (1984 to 1989) in South Beach, the buildings were so run down they were often repainted to make the show look more appealing. But all of that changed when Irene Marie and Michele Pommier moved to the beach.

About that time, A young girl from Fort Lauderdale walked into Irene Marie's office, and at 14 the sun didn't set on Niki Taylor. The rush was on, and before you knew it, Ford had opened an office on Ocean Drive at the News Cafe, then Elite followed opening in the Marlin Hotel on Collins Avenue. Michele Pommier had a building 81 Washington Avenue in those days. There has always been a dispute over whether Michele or Irene moved from Miami to South Beach first, it doesn't matter, both were responsible for the resurrection of the Beach. When I first came to South Beach (February, 1997) Irene Marie had the better known agency outside of South Florida (because of Niki), but Michele Pommier was considered the best agency for women locally.

In 1993, flush with the success of Niki Taylor and the potential of Niki's younger sister, Krissy, Irene opened offices in Atlanta and New York ("IM New York"? A name unlikely to ingratiate yourself with the tough New York crowd!). Unfortunately with a number of unexpected problems (including the unfortunate and unexpected death of Krissy Taylor due to heart failure), Irene had to close the New York office and rebuild her agency in South Beach. Still, she took her shot and I give Irene her props for making the bold move.

By the late '90s a combination of higher costs (as South Beach became more popular), unfavorable exchange rates (the dollar soared against the Euro), and the simple fact that South Beach was no longer the "hot new place" made other winter locations (such as Cape Town, South Africa) increasingly more attractive to the magazine and catalog crowd. Then came 9/11, 2001 was a difficult year for everyone here in South Beach. By 2003 things were on the upswing again, the fact that we had an established infrastructure (labs, studios, production companies, and for 5 months the most beautiful weather in the world!) brought back the Europeans, particularly the Germans (who love South Beach).

Unfortunately all things eventually come to an end. For many years have I recommended Irene Marie first as an agency any new model should consider here in Miami. But the struggling world wide economy has taken it's toll, and one of the grand dames of South Beach is no more. Irene Marie will be missed. Eighth and Ocean is now Eighth and Over.

The hand having writ, moves on.

Modelween 2008 a Spooky Success!

For those OMP models and members who were lucky enough to attend our 2008 Modelween events this past weekend, there's no need to tell you how frighteningly fun they were! If you weren't able to attend our Halloween parties in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Southern California, you missed a scary good time! From our guest hosts Tommy Lee and DJ Aero in South Florida to our crazy costume contest in Orange County, partygoers joined in on the fun way past midnight.

One eyewitness to the Tommy Lee experience had this to say:
"The music was loud, louder than I have ever heard a DJ play. My ears are still ringing two days later, but what's to be expected from a rock and roll legend? Tommy Lee from the historic band Motley Crue hosted club Karu & Y's Modelween Event for One Model Place last Friday in Miami. He spun an amazing set of rock/house music that was surprisingly very good. I wasn't sure what to expect from a rocker turned DJ but I was very happy with his performance.
"The club was packed to the brim in every room. Karu & Y is massive and well in the realm of superclubs. There were outdoor gardens and little nooks with tables to hide away in. I will have to check the place out on a normal night to really see the layout since I could barely move with thousands of dancing people swaying about. If you were there, you know... If not, sorry you missed this epic night."

Check back for more details, and keep an eye out for next year's event schedule at www.onemodelplace.com.
