Young Angelina Still a Stunner

More B&W images have emerged from Angelina Jolie's early days as a model, and they are definitely worth a second look as they go up for auction this week.

According to Hollywoodlife.com, "bikini-clad photos that the actress posed for when she was only 15 taken by photographer Harry Langdon, are now for sale on the auction Web site www.profilesinhistory.com. In the photos, Angelina is wearing a bikini, on all fours, and has wet hair! Other photos of Angie are headshots, but the two very racy ones, taken in black and white, are up for auction, with bidding starting at $400-$600."

Auction cataloger Ryan Dohm relates, “The photos are unusual in the fact that she is young and Langdon shot her at a young age. They are stunningly done.”

Profiles in History, the Calabasas, CA auction house which is selling the photographs, says they are “the world’s largest auctioneer of original Hollywood memorabilia.”

Ashley is the OMP Hot Model of the Week

Ashley (OMP Model #371407) describes herself as open-minded, determined, and full of personality -- all great traits that make her a top working model in the industry.

She has modeled for the past 11 years, originally getting her start as a teenager in Chicago. "When I was 14, I had an agent who was helping me establish my career with photo shoots and acting demo reels. But when I graduated high school I decided it was more important for me to get my education, so I enlisted in the military."

Toward the last year of her military enlistment, she realized that she wanted to give modeling another try. "I became serious about modeling as a career. I signed with an agency in St. Louis -- Toni's International Models -- and very soon found myself having to take leave days (I only got 30 days a year) to do paying modeling assignments."

She discovered One Model Place through her good photographer friend Reginald. "He got me re-interested in modeling after he told me about One Model Place. Since then, OMP has helped me career in so many ways... It's a place where I can showcase all of my work without worry about people judging my style. I've got great jobs castings, signed with multiple agencies, and it's introduced me to outstanding photographers and models. If it wasn't for OMP, I never would have received the job casting that led me to work for a great casino in Mississippi where I met my fiance Ian Nathaniel (OMP Member #36124). This site has done more for me then just help my career -- it's brought me the man I've been waiting for and my own personal live-in photographer!"

Some of Ashley's favorite experiences have been modeling for fine art nude figure classes at local colleges. "I can't remember how I originally was recommended for the booking. But it's helped me tremendously as an artist, by teaching me to concentrate on the 360-view concept of posing in the round, since the modeling platform is usually in the middle of the classroom and you are surrounded by students.

Even though she had done nude shoots in the past, Ashley remembers being nervous her first day because she had never been naked in front of that many people at one time. "Once that first class began and I dropped my robe, the students started working with their paint brushes and pencils, and all that nervousness just faded away. On the class break, I would walk around the room and look at all the students' work. It was very interesting to me to see how each student had a different perspective of my body and how the angle of my body/pose had translated onto paper. Doing this taught me many new poses and new ways to get emotions across." Just re-hired for another semester, Ashley highly recommends that every model tries posing for an art class at least once in their career.

She recalls some of her other favorite shoots. "I had a great time shooting my first print campaign and billboard for 'Rent & Roll.' I honestly had no idea that I was going to have a billboard for this job. The day I found out was when I drove into St. Louis for a meeting with a client. I was driving on the highway past the Cardinals stadium and BAM! there I was. I almost crashed my car. I was still in the military when this happened, and it was really cool."

Ashley lists some of the other rewards and challenges of modeling. "The rewards would be seeing myself grow as a model over the years that I have been doing this. It's helped me more with my confidence as a woman, and taught me that no one can promote you better then yourself. The friends I've made along the way have been some of the best. Challenges for me have included the ups and downs when it comes to castings that I was very excited about but never got picked for, and dealing with photographers that tried to take advantage of me when I was first starting out ."

Nude modeling for the camera also has its specific benefits and drawbacks. "I never really did much nude modeling on camera until I met my fiance. I had only done a few test shoots and, out of those images, very few are in my portfolio today. As we started working together Ian nurtured something inside of me that made me completely uninhibited as an artist. I have learned so much from him as his muse, not just in modeling but in all aspects of photography since I started shooting photos last May. The connection we have on camera is unlike anything I've ever experienced or thought possible. Nude modeling has helped me love all of my body and push my limits.

"One of the biggest challenges in nude modeling for me is actually finding places to shoot where I don't have to worry or be distracted about people interfering or causing disruption to my shoots. It's sad that we were all born naked in this world, but when people see a woman naked in public they automatically want to judge that person and make them feel like they're doing something wrong. I wish I could shoot anywhere, anytime I wanted to, naked."

Ashley has the following advice for models just starting out. "Find good quality photographers that take the time to edit your pictures and really concentrate on getting good headshots. Don't be afraid to limit yourself to one style of modeling based upon what the industry says you should do or be. Remember that for every ten no's to a job there is a yes, and keep faith in yourself if this is what you really want to do. Network like you breath air -- the more genuine people you meet, the more chances you have of being successful.

"I also suggest that you shared copyrights on any shoots that you do that are TFP, and with that being said don't be pushed into shooting any type of shots you are not comfortable with. Practice poses by picking up magazines and make yourself go through each pose in front of a mirror dressed first , and then naked. Learn how your body looks from all angles, and see what works and doesn't work for you. In the end, find the best support you can and be true to those people. You never know when you may need votes for contests, a last-minute makeup artist, or even an image to send to magazines on a two-day deadline."

Chipmunk is the OMP Hot Model of the Week

The uniquely-named Chipmunk (OMP Model #398843) fell in love with modeling ever since she started two years ago. She recalls, "Ever since I was a young girl, I had a dream of becoming a Victoria's Secret Angel. However, due to lack of self-esteem I never had the courage to try. And once I did, I knew I was meant to be in front of the camera for the rest of my life!"

The Panama City, Florida resident got her start in modeling by knowing local models in her area. "One day I was looking at their pictures and started doing research on photographers. I found someone I knew as a friend, not as a photographer, and started questioning him until I turned blue about how to become a model. About a week later, he asked me if I was interested in doing a photo shoot for a motorcycle store. At first I declined... I didn't think I had what it took and I didn't want to disappoint him. But after about 30 seconds, I realized this is how I can make my dream come true. So I accepted and have been doing it ever since!"

She was introduced to One Model Place through a photographer friend. "I was asked by a photographer if I had a portfolio on OMP, and I had no idea what he was asking. So then I did some research and came upon One Model Place. I have been addicted every since. The opportunities this site offers is endless!"

Chipmunk is grateful that OMP has helped her establish herself very quickly in the modeling community. "I know that all the photographers on here are great, and I know that I have opportunities to shoot with the best! The best is what will get me a contract with Victoria's Secret!! Hint hint! I am extremely glad that the photographer asked me if I had an OMP or I wouldn't have half the portfolio I have now!! So no only thanks to him but thanks OMP and everyone involved with this site.

When it comes to modeling, Chipmunk describes herself as an extremely eager learner. "I know by no means am I perfect, but I strive for excellence. I always try to keep the mindset that, if I have not tried a specific style of modeling and someone asks me if I'm interested, to not judge the style but give it a chance. I used to think all I wanted was to shoot cars and motorcycles, but now I have evolved into more of the fashion side of modeling! I absolutely love to have fun in front of the camera and I feel that if you don't enjoy what your shooting, then the pictures will turn out horrible. I am a very happy person -- and love to show it!"

She already has quite a few credits on her modeling and spokesmodel resume. "I absolutely love doing promotions. Being the head promotions model for Shocker Energy Drink has led to some of the best times in my life. I have been able to travel and meet a ton of new people. I do have a favorite photographer, his name is Jack Bains (OMP Member #69114) and his photography company is named Southern Exposure! He is one of the first photographers that helped me realize I can do anything I set my mind to. And I know from first -hand experience that no matter how much you are put down in life, you can always make your dreams come true! I have been featured in magazines as well. I think that is the best feeling, to know people can look at me and ask, 'Hey, weren't you in a magazine?'"

Chipmunk admits she is a "nervous wreck" before every photo shoot. "I always make sure to take care of my hair the night before. And I take my time getting ready! I do things in stages. I never rush because I know I will wear myself out! I always think about the beautiful images that people can create with a simple click of a button. Although it probably contradicts the fact that I need to calm down before a shoot, I always drink the biggest Red Bull I can find. Then right before I head to my photo shoot I always look in the mirror and tell myself I am beautiful, inside and out!"

During a photo shoot, Chipmunk likes to concentrate on having fun. "I have learned not to concentrate on strictly posing, because I know that the best poses cannot be staged. If all models were to simply focus on posing, then everyone would look the same. You have to be natural -- if you're not comfortable it shows! And I make sure not to think about every hair being in place or standing just right... You have to concentrate on having fun!"

Chipmunk relates that she has discovered many rewards to modeling. "When you feel beautiful, your self-esteem and confidence goes out the roof! I know I look up to so many models. I admire the long, hard hours of hair-pulling and having to stand perfectly still, so not only do I get rewards from myself modeling but I now have idols to look up to! There are so many people you get to meet from every culture, I have learned so much about how other people live just by modeling this past year! My best friend is a model and I would have never met her if I hadn't started modeling."

She also gained a family along the way. "Most importantly, I would have never met my amazing husband, who is a photographer, if I hadn't started modeling! And of course if I hadn't met my husband, I wouldn't be extremely blessed with having a baby boy!"

Modeling has also provided Chipmunk with its share of challenges. "It's not all fun and games, there are many challenges, too! Outfits are not cheap, and with today's economy, money isn't the easiest to come by! All the hours I spend trying to get ready for a shoot takes time away from my husband, and all the hours spent booking photo shoots gets very tiring!"

Chipmunk has some great advice for new models. "Please don't listen to the people that try to discourage you! They are just jealous! You are beautiful -- their opinion does not matter! Yours is the one that should matter! Have fun with it! Don't think of modeling as work -- think of it as 'playtime.' If you have fun, it will show! Never do anything you do to feel comfortable doing but never judge something until you try it!"

The iPad is Coming, the iPad is Coming!

It's official. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple’s iPad tablet computer will hit stores on April 3. Apple unveiled the device on Jan. 27 and said then that it would come to market in “late March.” After the April 3 U.S. launch, international rollouts will continue later in April.

Photographers, models, and others in the industry may find that this new large-format device will be the perfect way to organize and display their One Model Place portfolio!

Travel with an Artistic Entourage to Latvia!

UNCOMMON Gallery is launching its travel group this spring with an 8-day and 7-night trip to Latvia on May 16th–23rd. Michael Colanero of Uncommon Stock (OMP Member #91273) has passed along the invitation to all OMP models, photographers, artists, designers, and anyone interested in exploring this unique country.

They have chosen a location that will appeal to anyone with an interest in history or the world around them, yet will particularly strike the hearts of the artists and photographers with the wide diversity of the area - enough to fill up your mind and memory cards with the limitless photo ops and beautiful scenery.

The group will be leaving from JFK airport in NY and flying directly into the capital city of Riga (round trip flight from JFK to Riga included in travel package). From there they are getting picked up to go to a beach resort named by Forbes Magazine as the best SPA hotel in the Baltic Region and the only Five Star SPA resort on the beach (packages include hotel stay). With only a 20-minute ride away from the capital, all will get to take advantage of the Latvian Riviera and the action of the capital city nearby.

The first night starts with a complimentary mix and mingle party for everyone to get acquainted, make new friends and team up for excursions or fun. Tara (OMP Model #383649) enjoyed her reign as the OMP Hot Model of the Week so much, she wanted to share some insights into her career and advice for fellow models. As you can tell from the interview below, her natural beauty is matched with a bright outlook and an awesome sense of humor.

OMP: How long have you been modeling?

TARA: I’ve been modeling for almost two years now and loving every minute of it!

OMP: How did you get your start as a model?

TARA: I was my uncle's guinea pig when he started getting into photography when I was 12 which peaked my interest in it. Then, when I was 18 I went with a friend to her photoshoot as the chaperon and was asked to come back.

OMP: How do you describe yourself as a model?

TARA: Spunky? Feisty? Comical? Serious, determined, energetic and collaborative? lol. I have been called a lot of names. (All good, though!)

OMP: What are some of your favorite shoots and/or credits?

TARA: Favorites are all of them! But I have discovered a new passion for travel! I have been to the mountains of Tennessee, Florida and Lake Michigan to shoot with Robert / RNB2 Photography(62600). Outside of working with him my favorite was recently I spent a month north of L.A. on a project. Favorite credits? Image of the day! Numerous Showcases here on OneModelPlace of course! Featured on radio station and magazine websites, but my biggest credit so far..... I am not allowed to talk about yet!

OMP: How do you prepare for a photo shoot?

TARA: I think it depends on what the goal is. Some shots have been a matter of throwing on an outfit and a little make up and we are ready to go. Other have been a little bit of set up. (Milk is cold to lay in and cereal makes a mess of your tub!) I like to think I can pull off any mood for a shot, and I have done my best to try different expressions and bring a different feel to each shot I am asked to do.

OMP: What do you concentrate on during a shoot?

TARA: Keeping my tongue in my mouth. Don't laugh! Ok, laugh, it is funny though.

OMP: What are the rewards and challenges of modeling?

TARA: The challenges are sifting through all of the "I will make you famous" offers I get. The rewards? Too many to list! Money, great shots, increasing popularity, money and ultimately..... fame. (Stay tuned for more news. lol)

OMP: What advice do you have for models just starting out?

TARA: CHECK REFERENCES! I heard this a lot when I was first starting and it has saved me a lot of grief. I have heard so many stories about models wasting their time with this photographer and that photographer. Ladies, take the time to check references and you will save yourself a lot of grief. (Photographers check references of models too!)

OMP: How did you discover One Model Place?

TARA: Before working with RNB2, he sent me the link to his profile here. Once I had a couple good shots, I made a profile here too.

OMP: How has OMP helped your career?

TARA: I must say, I have been discovered here. And it is a great place to see a professionals work!

OMP: Anything else you would like to add?

TARA: I have only been modeling for a couple years. I am hoping things are about to break for me and I am so happy that I have stayed passionate about it. Each and every shoot I pour 100% of myself into it.

Playboy Features "Real Housewife" in Latest Issue

As reported on HuffingtonPost.com, "Real Housewives of New York City" star Kelly Killoren Bensimon is on the March cover of Playboy magazine, shot by her ex-husband Gilles Bensimon. Kelly, 41 and a mother of two, promises she's nude in the pictorial, but said it's not gratuitous shots of her genitals. As she told E!'s Marc Malkin, "I don't think that part of a woman's body is really evocative. The roundness of the hips, the buttocks, the breast, the shoulders, the clavicle, the hair, the teeth--those are things that I think are most evocative and provocative parts of the body. So I don't think it's really necessary to show that.

Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen Discovered Dead at Age 40

As reported by Rebecca Camber and Sara Nathan on www.dailymail.co.uk, British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was discovered dead today after taking his own life. The 40-year-old committed suicide just days after the death of his beloved mother, Joyce, last Tuesday. It is also just three years since his close friend, Isabella Blow - who plucked him from obscurity and helped him become a star - killed herself. McQueen, who was christened Lee but used his middle name for his label, was found at his luxury flat in Mayfair, central London. His death comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and weeks before he was due to unveil his new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9.

Leilani Jade is the OMP Rising Star of the Week

Leilani Jade (OMP Model #396304) is a talented teen model from Alabama who started modeling a little over a year ago, and has been making major progress ever since. Here is our exclusive interview with this week's OMP Rising Star of the Week.

OMP: How did you get your start as a model?

LEILANI JADE: Long story short, I won a photo competition and just kind of became involved that way. Now I feel that modeling is something I can strive to get better and better at.

OMP: How do you describe yourself as a model?

LEILANI JADE: I have been told I am very diverse by others, and I hope that is true. Hopefully I am right in saying I am easy to work with and always give the best of myself to each shoot or company I work with.

OMP: How did you discover One Model Place?

LEILANI JADE: I had signed up through a search engine, then I met Paul Carlisle of Carlisle Studios (OMP Member #20670) and he showed me how One Model Place could help me in promoting myself and my modeling career.

OMP: How has One Model Place helped your career?

LEILANI JADE: Through OMP I have met so many great people with great advice. I have booked assignments and done lots of shoots through OMP. I especially find the castings helpful.

OMP: What are some of your favorite shoots and photographers?

LEILANI JADE: I can actually say I have formed friendships with almost every photographer I have worked with. I would have to say working with Paul Carlisle would be a favorite. He is the single most creative person alive!

OMP: What do you concentrate on during a shoot?

LEILANI JADE: I try and concentrate on making sure I am able to get the photographer, company, or business I am working with the best possible photos possible. I try to be creative and just give my all.

OMP: What are the rewards and challenges of modeling?

LEILANI JADE: For me -- and this is probably different than most -- I threw myself into modeling because after the loss of my father at a young age, I needed something to do to take my mind off a lot of hurt. I found that modeling at a photo shoot is the one place where I can clear my mind, let go, go somewhere else in my mind, and focus on producing images with the photographer that both of us could be proud of. The biggest challenges are to me, you could be on a roof top in January in 20-degree weather in a spring outfit and you have got to work it (I know, I have been there). It could also be 99 degrees and you have to look comfortable in a coat and winter clothes, and sell it.

OMP: What advice do you have for models just starting out?

LEILANI JADE: I would say try your best to stay out of drama with other models. When you are booked for something, be on time or even a little early, and be prepared. Don't assume you're the best or a diva, because there is always someone better waiting to take your place if you aren't working hard.

OMP: Anything else you would like to add?

LEILANI JADE: I am not sure how far I will go in this crazy career I have selected, but I can say this I am going to work hard at it to make my dreams come true. Modeling is my passion and I hope to improve more and more each day!

Prolific Jon Barry Takes Artistic Approach to Photography

Prolific photographer Jon Barry (OMP Member #41308) has practically filled up his One Model Place portfolio with Showcase Images – an achievement that has only been reached once before in the history of the website. OMP got a chance to catch up with Jon to discuss his artistic technique and philosophy, as well as his new OMP portfolio featuring his children’s photography (OMP #41309)

OMP: What is your artistic background?

JON BARRY: I have been a photographer of sorts ever since my college days. I was a fine arts major in college, and became a watercolorist of note in New Orleans. My uncle, Adolf "Buby" Huye, was a commercial artist, and back then during the 1960s, when I was in my late teens and early twenties, I used to do architectural renderings for him and other architects. Once I started painting watercolors, Winslow Homer became my idol. I was out everyday sketching and finally I decided I just could not do the sketches fast enough and bought a decent 35mm camera to help my process. Photography was not my thing -- painting was -- and I only took photos in slides so I could project them and use them as the basis for the landscapes of my work.

When I went to Viet Nam, I had little time to paint, but taking photos was something that was always available. I bought a Miranda camera (obviously I was influenced by the naked glamour girl they had in their ads) along with a complete set of lens and gear. While there in Viet Nam, I took well over 4,000 slides. Though over the years I had a few jobs, art was always at the forefront, and photography was always a tool.

OMP: How did you make the transition into photography?

JON BARRY: Getting into photography as a profession did not happen until I started manufacturing theatrical makeup. My brother and I had an engineering firm, and I was basically the salesman. I was an art major, not an engineer. I had been bodypainting girls for years, and we batched up a bodypaint mixture that was to revolutionize the makeup market for movies and MTV videos, which became popular in the early ’80s. A friend told us that we should market our makeup, so we set out in a rented apartment and bottled the stuff. We were smart -- we put the words “safe” and “non-toxic” on the bottles. I went to a few department store chains with a female friend, we did a few demos, and they bought it. Additionally at that time another thing happened -- TV got into selling items live on the air. We found a couple of these channels, and wound up selling products that we did not even have. Then the FDA shut us down, yanked the product we had delivered out of the stores, and told us we had to do testing. With this setback, and the knowledge that the product was a winner, I set about designing products and doing the photography for the products. Within a couple of years, I started a prepress business to do the color separations for our business as well as that for other advertising firms, printers and graphic designers -- all at the onset of the digital explosion. We hired a staff photographer as well, and the two of us began shooting commercial work.

OMP: Tell us about how you first discovered and signed up for One Model Place back in 2003.

JON BARRY: When the prepress business got soft and the printers started buying the same equipment as we were using and giving away the same type of products we were selling for free, the handwriting was on the wall. We had sold the makeup business, Generik, Ink, Inc. and the brand “Why Not Party” to Libby Lee Toys out of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1989. I totally concentrated on the prepress, Image 4 Prepress, Inc, and our business in that was great. We had two staff photographers as well as me, and we were very advanced in the digital graphics and the commercial field as we were using Photoshop before the Knoll Brothers went with Adobe, Inc. We were doing retouching as far back as 1985, and now were beta developers for Adobe, as well as a dozen other software companies.

We became a dealer for Kodak to sell their digital cameras and worked out an arrangement with Leaf Systems before it was bought by American Scitex, to also use their camera systems, so we were taking digital photos before almost anyone. At this time there was an explosion of the Internet, and the force that was driving the Internet was the porn and glamour industry. When our business was declining for prepress as the printers were doing their own, we started scanning the rolls of film that the porn sites would get and we soon learned who was shooting the models. I was not really interested in porn, but rather I liked working with models to shoot artistic nudes. I still loved bodypainting and was always in need of models. One of the girls whom I had photographed (Stacy Lynn, who is no longer modeling) suggested that I join One Model Place because there were lots of models there. I did, and have never looked back.

OMP: How has One Model Place helped you promote your career over the past seven years?

JON BARRY: Commercial work has always been my mainstay, I was always in it through the makeup and the prepress business and knew the clients. But I also began doing well during the explosion of the models on the Internet. OMP offered me a way to find additional models that before might not have been available. At that time we had quite a few models in our area and back then they were very anxious to get work and since we were selling the photos we could afford to pay the models. The work got progressively better through 2005.

After Hurricane Katrina things changed here in Baton Rouge for us and we lost population due to the destruction caused by the storm. However, I had a good port on OMP and a few dance clubs noticed my work and I began to shoot for them as well. I was also doing calendars and was always in need of models and they were available through OMP and would come in from other areas. But even though I was not getting the same number of models from OMP, my portfolio was still being viewed and I got jobs from it.

OMP: Tell us the stories of your first Showcase image, and your most recent Showcase image.

JON BARRY: The truth is, I have no idea when the first Showcase image was selected. I really did not pay that much attention to it. I started off right away with a Platinum Plus account, and back then it only allowed 300 images. I was using the portfolio more for the ability to find models, and was not too concerned with Showcases. I am sure that back then I deleted them just like I would delete other images. They were not featured on our ports like they are now... with the bars across the page showing those that we have received as well as those on models' pages that we are linked to. When I first noticed them, they just had this little bar saying "Showcase." They happened when they happened. Probably over the years I have deleted well over 50 of them.

It was not until I noticed the affect that they had on hits to my account that I gave them any value. How can I tell a story about my most recent. I get one almost every day now. In fact, I am faced with deleting about 250 of them because now my port is filled with them. I started another One Model Place portfolio just for children (OMP #41309), and moved all those photos to that port. Even with doing that the port filled up, and it is easily possible that by the time anyone reads this, I will have deleted all 250. However, I made a link of the Showcases I have at present before their deletion, and that link is available on my port for viewing.

OMP: What advice do you have for OMP models?

JON BARRY: You know, we photographers have more longevity on OMP than the models do. They get older, have children, get married, and do not feel like being models anymore -- so most models have a lifespan that is limited. The great ones, well naturally they are still there. The biggest problem with models is they want it to be a dream, and they work with you and then they do not work with anyone else. Communications has always been their weak spots, but if the models want to really be successful, all they have to do is be good communicators, respond to emails and never be late or stand anyone up. Being good looking is truly secondary to being clean, punctual, and a good listener.

OMP: What advice do you have for photographers who are just starting out?

JON BARRY: I have watched Photoshop become ever so much more important than the camera to the shooters. My suggestion is to forget for the most part that Photoshop exists and concentrate on making the photos that are taken as good as possible when shot, so that little Photoshop work is necessary. I also think that the editing work by so many is overdone. I find that too many photographers have stopped worrying about their color and white balance, just being lazy and shooting raw which gives you a much greater color range, and correcting the files after the fact. But all this does is make the photographer even more of a slave to the computer and less available out in the field.

Further, I find that few photographers understand light at all. I think more attention should be paid as to where the light is coming from, what happens to it when it hits a surface, and learn how to shoot both inside and outside.

Lastly, stop worrying about protecting the images with large branding and providing tiny files to the models because of the worry that someone is going to steal the file. Be prolific, shoot more often. Shoot good headshots of the models that you do TFP with, and stop Photoshopping the models to the point where they do not look like themselves. This is great for the photographer's port, but the other photographers who want to hire this fictitious person would sure like to know what the model looks like. We might not like the person created in Photoshop, we want the real person. Also, stop putting hours and hours into the retouching of photos, and spend more time learning the camera, the light, and the framing. Make the photos good from the get-go and please, please give the models more images at a higher resolution.

OMP Studio Time with David Warren Photography

David of David Warren Photography (OMP Member #187521) wanted to let us know about his recent visit to the OMP Studio in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He booked the studio to shoot a fitness model. Here is his feedback:

"First and foremost, I have been a been a professional photographer for over 14 years. I have only been a member of One Model Place for the last two years, but I have found it to be a very important part of my business and a great place to find models for any particular shoot I have. Recently, I had a last-minute change of plans with a fitness model named Dawn (OMP Model #429760) who was only in town for one day. It actually was 40 degrees in Fort Lauderdale, so I couldn't do anything outside. I needed a studio last minute and One Model Place saved me.

"Let me tell you about the OMP Studio -- it is heaven for photographers! The 8-foot Profoto parabolic with along with an assortment of lights and strip banks made the shoot so easy to light that I didn't want to leave. There were lots of great props in their storage area that I was able to use as well. And the staff at One Model Place was great -- very helpful and very accommodating.

"Here are just a few shots from my shoot. Anyone in need of a rental studio in the South Florida area should definitely check out the OMP Studio. It will not disappoint!"

Saraa is the OMP Rising Star of the Week

Saraa (OMP Model #372654) started modeling about two years ago. In that short time, she has accomplished quite a lot. She got her start as a hairshow model, has appeared in magazines and ad campaigns, and most recently placed third in the country in the Runway Magazine National Model Search.

A photographer that Saraa worked with suggested she join One Model Place, and ever since then the site has been extremely helpful for her career. "I have been able to network with so many people…and so much of my work has been seen because of my profile. I have even made a couple of great friends since I began on OMP. I am so thankful to the administrators on OMP for their interest in my work."

Saraa describes herself as "easy to work with, enthusiastic and I have been told that I can pull off many different looks. My favorite shoots are themed shoots, particularly vintage style."

She prepares for photo shoots in this way. "I always make sure I get lots of sleep the night before, that my hair is clean and my nails are perfect. And I bring lots of food!"

The rewards and challenges of modeling for Saraa are many. "The greatest reward of modeling for me is working with all of the people involved in a shoot. The greatest challenge for me has been making sure that I eat enough food during the shoots to keep up my energy!"

She has some good advice for models trying to break into the industry. "My best advice would be to stay positive and just keep on doing test shoots. You can never have too much practice and it’s great experience to learn to work with everyone involved." Her personal goals as a model include some day making a living as a print model.
